What To Do In Kukup
Kukup is an interesting village which focuses on fishing and protecting the local wildlife. The really interesting aspect of the area is that all of the village and chalets are built on stilts right on the sea. To reach the area you’ll need to take a jetty, but the trip is well worth it for this unique experience.
1. Sing Karaoke, Kong Ming Lantern, Play Mahjong

2. Visit Kelong at Kukup Island
There are a number of other attractions in the area as well. Hop aboard a boat to visit “Kelong”. This offshore platform is built with wood and is specific to cultivate the fish. You’ll find a number of exotic species here including crabs, spitting fish, shrimp, starfish, and more.

4. Visit Kukup National Park
If you want a different perspective on the local wildlife visit the Kukup National Park. You’ll find a variety of wild animals like wild boars, mudskipper, monkeys and a host of exotic birds. The area is especially known for the water birds like Brahminy Kit, Collard Kingfisher and Grey Heron.
If you are visiting between the months of February and September you might get the chance to spot some of the local migratory birds such as the Redshank, Greenshank, Wimbrel, and Common Sandpiper.
